What is PRP?
Platelet-rich plasma is a high concentration of human platelets in a small volume of plasma. PRP is used in hair restoration, aesthetics, wound care and joint injections.
PRP contains a high concentration of growth factors and other molecules that are shown to stimulate wound healing, reduce inflammation and promote cell proliferation.
For hair restoration, PRP is injected into the subdermis of the scalp in areas of thinning hair which activate stem cells inside the hair bulb. This process stimulates new growth, decreases hair loss and strengthens and thickens existing hair.
Other benefits include virtually no down time, minimal risk for adverse or allergic reaction and natural looking results. PRP for hair restoration requires an average of 4 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart, however results will vary per person.
